book aprendiz de hada ANTONIA KON, LOURDES SAEZ bilingual edition: spanish-japanese
ARGENTINA
the poems in Aprendíz de hada are a mirror of a longed-for transformation. amidst delicate dresses, sweets, animals, and other sacred gifts, a magical creature lives secluded in her subterranean room of fantasies. a magical creature, a magical girl, a Sailor Moon. many of us wish our selves were like that creature of poetry, an immortal doll, calm and beautiful, with bold ruffles and newly sewn wings, ready to soar before the inexorability of fate.
such a precious and intricately detailed object demands not only a careful gaze to be truly appreciated. its creation also required a second language, Japanese, and the focused energies of a trio, a third mind called Shoujo Mishitsu: Paula, Antonia, and Lourdes; illustrator, poet, and translator.
