these prints capture the distinctive designs found in flooring across Mérida. known as "mosaicos de pasta", the mosaics inspiring these prints have their roots in the Mediterranean, and are traditionally handmade from a mix of cement, marble dust, and pigmnets. beyond the nostalgic air these prints bring, they are an interesting reminder of the long lasting cultural impact of international trade and how design travels and becomes something unique wherever it goes.
