this pin is inspired by the replica of Moctezuma's headdress (Quetzalapanecayotl.) the original penacho is displayed in Vienna (hmm) and the reproduction this pin is inspired on was created by the artist Francisco Moctezuma (any relation to emperor Moctezuma II?) in the 1930s. we're not very clear if this was really a headress and ever worn by emperor Moctezuma II.
