the "R" that the author chooses to use in these poems leaves us trembling. her honest voice translates into sounds that burst forth, phonemes that explode with intensity, screams that continue to echo in the darkness. rage and tenderness are present in the lines that make up this text; from this structure, it is natural that the stanzas erect the varied forms of pain and the noise with which the poetic subject confronts the laughter of others and the gaze of those she loves (or loved).

it is not surprising, then, that we hear the prayers and supplications of a woman determined not to remain silent again. perhaps, through those resounding "R"s, Rex will find what she so desperately seeks.
